Yesterday my friend Todd invited me over to the bike shop in beacon hill to help him with a photo shoot. I shot some video and some images to document. He busted out the super cam and we wet the floors down. They had some nice motorcycles running through that place. I'll post a link to the final images soon. We'll it's been an intense week. I don't have a set place to live so i've been house hopping since I arrived. A few of my friends have been gracious enough to let me stay for a few days. I'm going to house sit for my friend josh starting on wednesday. Him and his girlfriend are going to take a trip to michigan and he needs someone to watch his cat's. Sometimes things just work out that way. I've been waiting to get a roll of film developed for the past three days, but the camera shop has been closed because of the snow. Josh and I are going to have dinner at kings hardware in ballard tonight before he leaves for the week.

Well, I landed back in Seattle yesterday. Met up with Sam and spent sometime in the photo lab at his school. Last night his friend got us back stage passes to the City and Colour show at the Neptune. we drank some beers and met the guys in the band. It was a great way to break this city back in.

It snowed over night so we're gonna hit the streets today.

I drove to Orlando last night to see my friend Corey Schmidt and I met up with Tucker again. We ate subs and went downtown to do some dancing. When we woke up this morning, we drove to lake Jesup for an alligator cruise. Everything is good here.

I spent the last week here in texas helping my uncle move. he got a transfer from seattle to ft. worth for his train job. On thursday i rented a car and drove to austin. i revisited hamilton pool and went to a dinner/movie show at the ritz. we're going to launch the sailboat on eagle mountain lake this morning. and tomorrow, i'm flying back home to kansas city for the holidays.

i'm almost finished packing my bags. monday morning we're taking the boat to seattle, washington, that's where we'll set sail. it's been over a year and half since we brought her back from maryland. as far as we know she's never seen the pacific. i'm crewing with my two best friends through puget sound and the san juan islands. we've got a few cameras, a couple maps and a rough plan. we'll live aboard the boat for three weeks but will be gone for six. when we reach vancouver b.c., we'll catch a plane to prince george for a twenty day video shoot. we'll see bears, elk, fish and whatever else they got. i will document. there is a pinnacle in every young man's life and this will be mine.

the days are blending together again. i’ve become a night owl. the lake has been frozen for more than a week now and i’ve been skating. i skate right out to the middle. from there i can see every house on every hill. i can see my breath. i can’t remember the last time it’s been this cold. cars won’t start. the stairs that lead up to my house are still covered in snow. i wear my boots to the grocery store. i’m saving a little money and drawing up a new plan.

missouri got it’s first winter snow. if my home state was ever a secret to any of you, then it’s not now. i’m home alone tonight, but i’m not watching home alone tonight. i wish i was, i guess i could. things have been different these past few weeks. it’s been dark in this house. i like the sound of the furnace turning on and i’m still curious as to how high i can stack the dishes in the sink. after christmas you always start to play new year’s eve out in your head. i always see a grand ballroom filled with pretty people in fancy clothes. bottles of champagne and flashing lights. my date in a fit black dress with a long coat to match. everything goes right from the minute we make our way out the door.

well here i am. southern missouri. my dad rented me a small cabin for the week. an early christmas present i guess. its a smaller space. the bed frame is made of antlers and there are deer heads hung from the walls. the balcony overlooks the lake. every young boys dream. i keep wondering if it would be better here in the spring. like when the leaves have color and the weather is warmer. everything has been pale and brown since the fall. these green pines are a pleasant change. this is where i want to be, alone in the great outdoors. i'm going to write this week and do things that make me feel good. i'm going to start the recovery process. i've been reading other peoples lives lately and i realized that there are a million people unlike me.

i realized today that my life is a staircase. it goes up and it goes down. but, usually more up then down. i walked out the door today in a shirt 4 sizes too big. it felt good. i’ve been missing out on great things. i’m ready to feel again. i’m ready to let go of everything i know and go which ever way the wind blows. if you look outside tonight, you’ll see the moon. and if it wasn’t so cold, i’d drive you out to the country. we could count the stars from the hood of my car.

i spent most of last week moving in. i got everything in but my bed. i'm sleeping on the fold out for the time being. i was in arkansas for the weekend again. that's the last time. i'm happy in my new home. it suits me. i'm bringing the sailboat over this week. i've got a place for it on the dock.

kyle, i'm sorry that tucker is gone. 13 years is long time for any dog. that's a little more than half of your life time. he was the only pet that made me smile, every time i saw him. you laughed every time we talked about him. most dogs don't get to live at a lake and ride around in boats. like you said, he had a good life. this is the only photograph that i have of him.

i got back home at 5 today. we spent the weekend in columbia. i played two parties. friday night was HUSTLE dance party, something i've been putting together for over two months now. i think 100 people showed up. they we're young. iggy shared the set with me. he's the boy with the cool haircut and glasses. we had a real good time. saturday, i played the RUTHLESS zine relase party. my friend dylan was out of town for the weekend so he gave me the key to his dorm. i'm on the couch now and i'm worn out.

here i am again. it's been another week. we spent saturday on the water. we found some good wind, and some good water. now we know that the sailboat will sail 6. i'm going to pick up trevor in 4 hours. we're going to get an early start on the day. we've got a few projects to finish up. today we abused our second story office. we opened the windows and threw grapes at cars on the street below. trevor knows i've got a good arm.

somehow, this has become a weekly thing. i've been busy i guess. i made some purchases in the last few days and i intend to make a few more. i watched a couple of videos online the other night and now, i'm motivated. i plan to start work on my own video project by next week. we drove to columbia friday for my sound check at the artisan. to fill you in, the artisan is a club/coffee shop located in the biggest college town in missouri. a month ago, i got the owner to agree to a friday night dance party. i told him that we'll call it "HUSTLE". my friend and i will be resident dj's. opening night is set for september 11th. you can bet that people will parade through the streets and all of my brothers and sisters will join hands and sing glory glory hallelujah.

on a side note, i stopped at the record store while i was there. after 15 minutes of digging, i struck gold.

friday i mowed kyle's dad's yard and at night, i played a house party in columbia. on saturday day, kyle and i left for jasper arkansas. i was hired to film rock climbing at horseshoe canyon. we camped out over night. we hiked and climbed all day sunday. the canyon reminded me of a miniature colorado, minus the mountains. it felt good to to be out in the country again. i got a little exercise and i got some sun on my arms. everyone here is complaining that summer is over, but i don't care. the weather feels good now because the season is passing. fall is my favorite anyway. tomorrow, i'm going to organize some things in the garage. i want to get a head start before we move.

lately, i've been locked down to a chair, in front of my computer screen. the only thing i've felt like doing, is designing. it's been raining most of the time so i haven't been outside. i went through my closet and filled boxes with clothes i'll never wear. i've been sorting through my vinyl as well. i'm moving out again, this time to my own lake house. i should be in by mid-september.

ben, if you're reading this, you'll be happy to know that the average white band album that you gave me has "pick up the pieces" on side one. if you aren't familiar with the song, you need to be. i did 3 laps around my room when i first heard it and my bed sits against the wall. you figure it out. on a side note, devon and i went to a free passion pit show in lawrence kansas last night. it was nice. anyway, i finally broke down and watched a movie tonight. Prefontaine. i got it on vhs from the thrift store for 75 cents yesterday. i've been wanting to watch it for years. if you haven't seen it, you should. it's a real gem.

i'm embarrassed with how long it's been since i posted here. i forgot that sometimes i'm not the only person who reads this. a few days ago, emily from texas, asked me about my blog. tonight, at the mexican restaurant, trevor told me that he enjoyed reading it. he told me that some nights, he would read back to the first post. it made me feel good. i started this for my mother and father and my close friends. i told them to read it while i'm away. i promised them stories and photographs. i've met people since then who like to hear about me, and i like to hear about them, so i'd like to keep it going.

since i returned home from pennsylvania, i've been nonstop everything. i started my new job as a film editor, and i couldn't be more pleased. i set my own hours and come and go as i wish. i've been working on a project for a convention in louisville, kentucky. i will have it finished by tomorrow morning and i plan to leave for the 3 day convention in the afternoon. i will have a hotel room of my own and all of my food will be paid for. did austin goldberg strike it rich? maybe he did. i stopped working for starbucks today after 3 and a half years. as for the bad news, my saab is broken down. this forced me to buy a new car last week. i'm now the proud owner of a 1992 jaguar. wooooood graaaaain.

i got back from the cabin yesterday afternoon. we spent 4th of july with trevor and his friends. 20 of them. we all squeezed into his small lake house in the ozarks. it was nice to be around some different people. today, devon and i took the boat out and did some fishing. she caught some, and so did i. we went to the royals game early last week as well. i've been busy with my new job and it makes me feel good. i'm glad to finally be doing something i love, film editing. this is going to be a busy month for me. i'm leaving for virginia this weekend and then kentucky in two weeks. i'll keep you updated.

today i decided to start training for our 600 mile bicycle ride. i walked down into devon's basement and hopped on her dad's 1970's exercise bike. i tuned my ipod to french disco and rode that baby until the chain was smokin'. i hope to continue this pattern until i return home. hell, maybe i'll even lift some weights.

i'm back in pennsylvania if anyone cares. i'm working at starbucks here 35 hours next week. money isn't important to me, but i must have some to survive. the west will now wait until july. for anyone who doesn't know, the boys and i are riding our bicycles from kansas city to denver. from there we will adventure further west.

earlier this week, i was offered a job as a full time film editor. i've arranged a meeting for when i return. starbucks has been my permanent job for 3 and a half years. i can't do the same thing forever. i'm ready for something different. this is my big break.

we just left the beach in south padre. we spent 3 days and nights camping. i haven't been this dirty since the filming for the horror film contest. i've got sand on every square inch of my body, and 3 inches of saltwater build up on my hair. i can even feel sand when i brush my teeth. i'm also severely sun faded. my computer now has 3 cracks that stretch across the screen, whatever. my life is falling apart but should be pieced back together by the weekend.
